So I am going to my first SPAH convention this year, and I am just wondering what I should expect when I go there? It seems like it will be fun. I am also wondering who will be there? I know Joe Filisko will be there, Chris Michalek, I believe Brad Harrison, too bad Howard Levy couldn't make it!!!

Jason Ricci will be there for the week. I just spoke with PT Gazell the other day and he is NOT going to be there. George Brooks might be there but it might as well be on the other side of the planet for him as he lives in vermont.
My feeling is this year it will be smaller and mainly west coat guys. One of my friends from MN is one of the headliners, Bruce Kurnow. Tommy Morgan will be there and *cough* christelle.

Oh yeah Mark Hummel too.
I expect the usual gang from Chicago... Buzz, Tom, Joe.
Be warned Zach, if you hang around me, I am not responsible for your social corruption.

Zak, when you're a super star like me, you'll realize that names don't matter to you either. Thanks.

Well e, I have a keyboard. I want to keep it, but I need to get rid of it because it is WAY too big. Sold for seven hundred bucks. That's a SPAH trip right there just about. :)

Zac,
you have much to learn. Super Stars and badass harmonica players don't ask for permission. LOL

Man, I used to live in Sacto (well, in Davis anyway)! But that was in another life, *before* I found harmonica. Now I live in the desert, and I have other kinds of conferences I must attend (archaeology ones), and so cannot, alas, afford to go back to my former home, even for such a noble cause as harmonica nerding...
PS, I'll be at the annual Society for American Archaeology's convention in Atlanta April 20-25th. Anyone on this forum make Atlanta their home and feel like meeting a bunch of drunk archaeologists? Anyone know of a good blues club in Atlanta where I could take a bunch of drunk archaeologists?

SPAH is much too west coast for me unfortunately. Sounds like a great event though. Have fun!

In the early days many of us would share four to a room. We all became very close friends and have a huge slumber party made things a lot cheaper. You will find that all you really need is a place to crash for a few hours. We have been known to be up all night, have breakfast at the crack of dawn and then sleep for an hour because another cool seminar would be starting a 9am.
SPAH goes from tues to sat. Sunday is truly a day of rest in this case. Crash for 15 hours when you get home and you're good as new.

Good point Chris. Maybe no Carlos, then. I'm no Zacharias, but it would be cool. I'm a Zackery, but no one can spell that :)
Wooh Brandon! Are we still going to your Aunt's house to have some dinner the night before? I'm definitely going to check out Jason the night before!!!

Now I'm gettin' scared--do they have a place for the old folks to nap? Does the restaurant even serve Geezer Chow?
All these youngsters might wear me out--and the little pricks all play about a hundred times better than me! Just no respect at all for the aged ;-). . .
