I'm sure its me but no matter how hard I try with the MB's I cannot get the 8 draw to play clean.
Tongue blocking/lip pursing, open airpassage, closed airway.
Nope, nothing works.
Squeals, sqwaks and chokes a plenty but no clean sound.
Tried "tweaking" the reeds, nothing.

Any one else have this and what did you do to correct it?

It's unusual for 8 draw to give trouble. Are you certain there's nothing impeding the reed vibration?

May need to dissassemble to check thoroughly. Sometimes something as small as a short hair could be the problem. As it's 8 draw just removing the bottom coverplate should reveal the suspect.

I know, 8 draw shouldn't be a problem but
all three C, D and A MB's give me that problem.
Removed the bottom cover and nothing evident shows.
Reeds move free when flexed with small piece of paper and I even blew them out with a blast from my keyboard cleaner.
They are all 3 relatively new. The old ones were no problem. I'm thinking air leaks but not sure how to go about fixing that. Any help on that is appreciated.
My Oskar's play OK.

I had a problem with 8 draw when i started. Pretty similar with the squealing and choking and all that. 'Twas all because of me though. I think it helped to make the room inside my mouth smaller. Yes, smaller :). People always say one sould have a large resonating chamber in the mouth for good tone, but at that point doing the opposite helped me. Nowadays i'm able to get the 8 draw with a good emouchure and mouth cavity but back then playing with a bad technique helped me temporarily solve that problem. Just sharing experiences, you're 8 draw might be screwed in a totally different manner ;). This might be even more likely if you can get it on a different harp.

I always had trouble with the 8 draw. in fact, i think i had more trouble with that than any other holes. It might just be your Embouchure.

Just keep practicing the single note. For me I had to "Relax" drastically. when you relax you can coax that sound out. just feel "At-Ease".

Good Luck

Stereotypical instructions here, but they worked for me and others
