Hi, ive been searching the net for a low C harp but to no avail. Does anyone know where i can get one from?
Im not to fussed about the make, at first i wanted a Hohner Blues harp but i dont think they make em. I live in the U.K but i dont mind ordering from overseas. I can only find a Low C from harmonicasdirect but they only seem to stock them in the Seydel 1847, which i know is a great make but the price is a bit too high.
Anyone got any ideas?
Thanx, Ant.

http://www.harmonicas-direct.com/index.asp These people are UK based and deliver to your door in a couple of days. I'll leave you to find the make you want. There's the Seydel super lows or the MB 14-hole in C or the SBS (Steve Baker Special) in C. I'm not sure what others there are. I've got a 14-hole MB, but I'd rather have an SBS.

Odd. I know Hohner do a few low and high keys now, but the lows start on low D. If you don't want to spend a fortune, go for a 12 hole Marine Band £27.

Buy the Seydel 1841. It is for and away the best Low C I've got. You can order it from the Seydel web site. I LOVE this harp!
P.S. don't even think of buying one that hasn't had the cover plate modified to give the #1 reed more clearance. The seydel has this done for you. ---------- /Greg

Thanx for the replies guys. Does a low C harp only come with 12 or 14 holes? I was under the impression i could get a 10 hole Low C harp. I think i might try a Low D or a low F harp, it looks like its easier to get hold of them.

The only HOHNER low C is the 12 or 14 hole variety, Seydel and possibly others do 10 hole models. The Hohner 10 hole lows start on low D for some reason (probably because the 12 and 14 hole models have got Low C covered).
I love low keyed harps. As well as a low D Sp20, I've got a couple of Seydel Superlow Blues sessions (low low F and Low G). They are lovely harps.

Hey Ant be aware that the 364 and 365 (12 and 14 holes) aren't tuned the same way as a normal 10 hole. The first octave and 1/2 are similar but then it starts to sound different and you won't get the note you are expecting. The Steve Baker Specials are more blues friendly.
