I've always liked the harp loops on Spearhead's "positive"

It was played by the superb jazz guitarist Charlie Hunter - surprisingly this seems to be his only recorded playing, as he shows taste and no little ability
My band Vinnebago is jazz-rap band with harmonica and hip-hop every track. http://www.myspace.com/vinnebago (text is still in Russian only, but you can hear audio tracks).
Boris, the song on your myspace that is "KpNk" (where the N is backwards). THAT'S what I'm talking about! Great harp, great hip hop feel to the track. Great rapping. Can you give details about what you were playing, and how you thought of it? What harp/pos, etc, too?
I also liked the harp on "UbIna" and "MyxNk"(are you using and octave down pedal?), but both had a more hard rock feel than a pure hip hop feel (which is very good, but not the topic here, no?)
"OrHeHHaR nTuNa" had a really great De La Soul vibe going on. I liked that track the second best from "KpNk".
Thanks, glad you like it! I've just transliterated the song titles (and still have to translate press-release).
Krik (Scream) - F harp, key Gm (3rd pos). I use Small stone phase shifter accompaniment under guitar solo and PS3 pitch shifter for octave effect for the end of solo.
Tsypa (Chicken) is our version of great funk tune By Pee Wee Ellis (it's widely known as played by Jaco Pastorius). Bb harp, key of F (2nd pos).
Mujik (Brutal man) - G harp, key of Am (3rd pos), some long delays and PS3 for octave rock-riff for chorus.
Ognennaya Ptitsa (Firebird) - it's Dm harp (retuned from G harp) key of Am (!), 3rd position. Ibanez DE7 delay for pitch shifted delays, Boss PS3 for octaves, EHX Small Stone phaser for hammond-like tones.
Hi Boris, thanks you for the reply! The Cyrillic does not copy (replaced by ????), which is why I just bastardized the names in roman letters. Can you copy my bastardizations of the names with the notes you give above? Thank you! And if you have an MP3 of "KpNk" I'd like to put it on my music player so I can listen to it over and over and see what you are doing on the harp part!
