Based on what we're seeing today with the community I'm willing to believe Jay Gaunt is going to be a major influence on a lot of players in the future.

He could very well be "the (next) one".

I'm personally totally blown away by him. Jay Gaunt is MONSTER!

Jay is the Man. He is one of the best young players that I have ever heard, and he is progressing at an extreamly fast rate. I first met him last year on beale street in Memphis, and even then he was a very great player. He has gotten much better since then, and I am expecting to see much, much more from him in the future.

Im really curious what he has focused his practicing on over the past 2 years and how much time he puts into practicing. He's really good from the playing I heard at the very beginning of the interview. I was too busy being rebellious at 15, lol.

Chris, are you implying with "my" vibrato that you're giving Jay lessons?

I do not claim to be his teacher but yes via skype and via some focused time in person.

I think that qualifies as teaching him. I like Jay - nice kid. Glad you're helping him out.

thanks Greg, I really think he's the next guy that is really going to do something with the instrument. He's insanely quick to pick up the little things. He's got a great ear and the ambition to push the boundries of the instrument.
