1 free chicken before playing harp is 1 week of free chicken while playing harp-- taste the delicious chicken every time you play for the next week (the whole month if it has absorbent wood comb. ---------- "Without music, life would be a mistake" -Nietzsche

Chicks dig the long ball.
Harp players dig chicks.
Oprah likes the Colonel's free chicken.
Free your mind and the chicks will follow (hopefully with free chicken).
Cheesh - I am sorry...

That reminds me that I should learn to do chicken noises with the harp, like Captain Beefheart does in his song "Click Clack" (hey, another one hell of a player that's not on the list, by the way !).
I'm very interested by that kind of performance : trains, chickenhouses, fox chase... in my opinion, it's part of the blues thing, entertaining the audience and raising smiles as much as tears (I hope this phrase makes sense ?).

Snakes. Nice P-Funk reference.
Gloth, tragically, van Vliet doesn't play harp that often. Since I'm so lazy, how'd you like to compile a list of all the tracks where he does play?
Maybe compiling that list would be a good project for me.

I would be incapable to make such a list, because I have only two Beefheart albums plus a compilation. I love the albums "The Spotlight Kid" and "A Clear Spot", but a lot of what's on the other albums gets on my nerves actually.

Gloth, wash your mouth out! Trout Mask Replica has been my favourite album of all time since I first heard it in 1976. But I admit I don't listen to it much any more. I don't think there's any harp on it all tho. Strictly Personal has some (Gimme dat harp boy on a D harp). Glider is on Spotlight Kid (or is it Decals)? I think he uses a G harp on that one.

P.S. I promise I'll eat some chicken tonight, Chris, as a penitance for taking this off topic.
