Got this in today ( fast! ) I love it. size is great. easy to hold, much easier ten a bullet i think. sounds way better ( we don't don't live in the pre-war era anymore! )
This really has me closer to the sound i'm looking for.
before i was using a bottle o blues and a green bullet. they are both good mic except for one thing i think, they are distorted. to me the cleaner mic just sounds richer and fuller on a over driven amp. much less "muffled".
To me that is like putting a distortion pedal on a clean amp. it just isn't as rich as for example a triple rec.
even if you can not afford the ultimate id give a sm57 a shot although Greg's is much easier to use with a more comfortable size, volume control ( a must for me ) and high imp.

i forgot to mention greg was really helpful in picking out the options i needed. i was originally going to go with a xlr connection but ended up going with a much more compact old style screw on. i like it, as it eliminates the "cigar" from the end of the thing

I've got 2 modified Shure Microphones (I still have issues by saying that they're Shure mikes because of the complete re design), the Ultimate 57, and Ultimate 58 are beautifully done by Greg, and everywhere I go to play at gig, people (amongst these individuals, pro technicians) are very enthusiastic about them. Of course above that, playing with those little friends everyday is more than a pleasure, they're light and very comfy to use. After all these months in their company, I can't be more happy than I'm whith Greg's products.....They rocks big time (and are 2 years of warranty)
