Great video from Tomas (Harpsucker) as always.
However hardly a fair comparison.

Firstly the tube set up between the original and the 90's reissue was different. Secondly the original had a valve rectifier, whilst the reissue had a solid state rectifier. Then of course over the decades the values of the components would have drifted quite a lot, the speakers would be obviously more broken in.
All of these things combined would make the two amp sound quite different to each other.Even if Tomas had changed the reissue to a valve rectifier and made some valve subs (12AY7 in V1) to match the original.

The newer Re-issue LTD are alot closer in sound.Even Guitarists recognized that the 1st re-issues from the 90's were very cheaply built and had issues with the electronics boards and the solid state rectifier.
If you take one of the newer Reissue LTD and swap out the 1st and 2nd preamp tubes to 12au7 and either 12au7,12ay7(my setup) or 12at7 You get a much smoother low end that is extremely enjoyable. I know it's not point to point wiring but on the other hand I don't want to spend thousands on a 50 year old amp.

The '59 Bassman LTD is the model currently in production. I had one for a while and it was a pretty good amp.

2nd that the LTD is way better than the RI. They went pack to a proper cabinet and a real rectifier. The LTD is a great value.
