Hey, I'm sitting here listening to Frank Frost's "Midnight Prowler" album on lala.com. Pretty good stuff. Anyone familiar with him? I found him on a compilation album while I was digging out more Dr. Ross tunes. I hadn't heard of him before but I like his sound.

Frank Frost can be seen playing the harp in the "Juke Joint" scenes in the movie "Crossroads".

No kidding? I just did some reading on him. I guess he learned from SBW.

The Bushman Delta Frost was named in memory of him.

I hope I've still got the air to blow when I'm as old as he was when he played in the movie.

I might start running or, better still, I'll fix the puncture on my bike.

Seriously though, I do like that old time Dr Ross type vamping rhythm stuff; it's a great style to entertain with when playing unaccompanied.

If you could find a place to busk in my part of London - without getting on some waiting list for a licence, or getting grief from the Stasi, whoops, I mean local law enforcement oficer / tax collector - I could make a nice few pennies playing that kind of stuff.

That's what I like about the Dr. Ross stuff...it's the first lesson from Adam that I've come away from feeling like I was able to "play music" rather than just parrot back the lesson. So I keep looking for similar styles and players.

I'll get back on this one, because I have to check the title, but I've got a GREAT album from FF at work (and for beginners, a lot of the songs use a C harp if I'm not mistaken)

I have a European version of Jelly Roll King and the bonus tracks are in various keys but on the original album (the first 14 tracks of my disc) 12 are in the key of F and played second position on a Bb harp. The other two, you guessed it, in the key of Bb played 1st position on a Bb harp.
Seems like he showed up to the studio with a harp in his pocket and just let it rip!
