Alright folks - after 15 years of education I've decided to head Stateside for a few months after graduating - hopefully gonna start in Boston and work my way down the East Coast towards New Orleans.
This is a great chance for me to really tour Blues country and see some real US blues.
Anyone have any advice???

In Boston , likely suspects in the area include Johnny D's in Somerville and Harper's Ferry in Brighton. There's also a new House of Blues, they may actually have some blues acts there. Not too many bars are solely blues bars, it'll depend on what they have going on when you're in town. I live out in the 'burbs, there's some decent blues out here too.

Seriously, give a holler when you're out this way, happy to help find you some boston baked blues!

Stop in Birmingham on your way down to NOLA. There's a great juke joint Gip's. It's a blast and he often has some really good acts come through to play. It's heaven on earth.

Is there a Chicago stop? If so, you have to stop by the Old Town School of Folk Music on a Monday night and meet Joe Filisko and the boys, then head to the pub afterwards.

Check out the double door inn in Charlotte. They do not always have blues acts, but it's worth it to head up to the green room and see signatures from some of the greatest. Steve Ray Vaughan and Eric Clapton have both played there. It is also said to be the oldest single ownership blues bar in the United States. Very cool place.
