I tried finding the original thread and failed.. Over the years I've read everything online and even purchased a video set on "blueprinting" reedplates. I've never been successful until watching the video Chris Michalek posted in this forum. The one thing he said that made the big difference is when he mentioned calling Filisko, and hearing the "plinking" in the background. That did it. What I failed to do was continue to plink the embossed slot until the reed worked itself clear! This single exercise creates a harmonica thats so much easier to play. Thanks Chris
also i been tryin to do some reed work on some harps. i was wondering what exactly happens from plinkin the reed? like does it slowly take away from the edge till its just the right fit?
"I'm pretty sure it kills brain cells." i hope you build them on auto-pilot then. with all the harps you probably built it would be like me revisiting the 70's!!
