Forgive me Doc Gussow and Buddha. I know you're both very busy dudes. But, is there going to be a Judgement Day?
I never expected to get into the play-off, as it were, but when I did, I was thrilled that I might have some of your professional criticisms cast on me.
That was the prize, as far as I was concerned. Please forgive me if I'm encroaching. But I think that the pros involvement came to be part of what made the event such a brilliant thing on the forum; something to really look forward to next time round.

I dropped the ball on this one. Adam called me a few weeks ago and just never got around to calling him back and just kinda left it alone.

Oh well, never mind. I'll join in on the next one, come what may. I was a bit disappointed about the final lack of an outcome, but it's not a big deal.

Me too, but I was a bit excited about the pros comments. It would've been fun, wouldn't it? ---------- 'If it sounds GOOD to you, it's bitchen; if it sounds BAD to YOU, it's shitty' - Frank Zappa

Flippin' Nora, Man! I gotta get me some better chops pretty quick then. We got loads more new peeps on here now.
But hey, it doesn't have to be annual; it can be whenever there's a consencus for it.

We definately need more than 1 per year. I say we use a different song type each time....(with vocals, without, different grooves etc.)

i think its better to use just backing tracks, that way there is infinite possibilities for what people will record. if theres an actual known song with vocals etc... then it limits creativity an most of recordings would end up sounding similar.

Maybe we'll end up having categories, I dunno: solo harp; solo harp with singing - like old time SBW2nd; and something like we had last time.
It seems a shame if we limit it to just those peeps who can only play, but don't like to sing.
I thinks there's over 800 members now. I bet some of them can really make it rock with just their foot, voice and harp. It's great to hear that stuff. ---------- 'If it sounds GOOD to you, it's bitchen; if it sounds BAD to YOU, it's shitty' - Frank Zappa

oh to have us play harp an sing would be cool. i thought you ment a track that had some vocals allready on it. like an old blues song that dont have harp on it an we would record the harp verse. that i would not like. at least as a contest.

mickil: "I gotta get me some better chops pretty quick then." That's the idea... :)
"What do you say, MBs at dawn? (Sergio Leone music in the background.)" Hell yeah, I also totally agree with Miles, "with vocals, without, different grooves etc."... whatever.
I could even imagine some kind of totally basic african drum groove... and see what we come up with... lol.
Its better not to focus too much on conformity and simply have a lot of these Playalongs... :).
jonsparrow: "ya i allways wanted to be a singer but im realy shy but i would give it a try." same here. My last try was kinda *down the drain* but I don't plan to give up ;).
