Dave doesn't even know me. I think I have sent him one message ever in my life and it was about an old Old Stand-By. But, I wanted to give him a public thank you. I don't think he knows how much people appreciate what he has done for harmonica players via youtube, with his incredible videos on customizing. If it was not for those videos I would still be doing my guess work today that usually fails me! I have never bought anything from him, but I will someday. Dave is such a great guy and sometimes I don't think he gets the recognition he deserves.

Sincerely,
Zack.

P.S. Dave, I like how you like nails...It's cool to keep them Marine Band's unmodified when they are pre-war...But, seriously dude!!! They're for chicks and drags! :-D

Zack, would you mind posting a link to one of the videos you seen by David Payne on youtube? I'm not sure if I seen anything or not yet (probably did). I did a quick search on youtube and didn't come up with anything so maybe you could point me in the right direction on what you seen that you felt was helpful?

Wow, guys, I'm touched. Thank you everybody and thank you Zack. I've not put any new videos up in a few months because of connectivity issues and I lost about 40 videos at one point. But I'm just now capable again and put a few things up the last couple of days.

As soon as I can, I'll put some more repair and custom info up. Thanks to guys like Jason Ricci, Rupert Oysler and Joe Spiers (who I'm sure doesn't know what kind of road a single brilliant comment of his about reed profile led me down), I'm a lot better than I was when I was making videos before.

I liked nails because they were cool, yes. But the main reason was, they were frankly better than screws and I could make a nailed harp way tighter than a screwed one. But I've been experimenting with ways to spread the force of the screw and I've been using nuts and washers and various things to make the screws hold tight as nails.

Seconded.

Thank you Dave.

Your videos gave me a good start on customizing my own before I knew anyone who did any custom work.

I'm also a parent and there are other things I have learned and appreciate about the message you put out as well. SPEND TIME WITH THE YOUNG UN's!

You're a good man, just want you to know I'm thankful too!

Dave Payne is a great guy and has helped me a lot with advice via email and his videos.
If the world had more people like Dave in it I reckon it would be a better place.
