I went to a jam session yesterday and saw a fellow harpist that I hadn't seen in about ten years. It turns out that he's been busy creating his own harp amps and they (he had two of them there) are really beautiful. The amps he had there were running a pair of 8 inch speakers and about 15 watts if I remember correctly. They were completly professionally finished and they sounded awesome. I was fortunate enough to be able to have a good long try out at the jam session and was totally impressed. Of course I've never played through a HarpGear, have played through various Bassman's and so forth, but this sounded as good if not better than any of them. He's calling it the Harptone which might be a problem because there's already an amp called the Collins Harptone, so he might have to change the name if he starts selling them. (And they have this beautiful Harptone name plate on them.) He doesn't have a web site yet. I'll let you know when I know more. (Oops. It's COMING, not comming...)
