Can anyone please tell me the difference between EL84, 6v6, and 6L6 output tubes? Thank you.

Totally different circuit designs which also require different tube plate, cathode and grid operating voltages. The circuits are designed to operate with a particular type of power tube's design. That's about as simple as I can say it.
Hint - take off the caps lock on your keyboard - otherwise it appears as though you're yelling. 8^)

I suggest anyone who uses tubes and wants any kind of acquaintance with their workings write to the company that makes the tubes. They will almost certainly publish a little technical leaflet on each one and be happy to send it to you.
I say this from experience - in the Seventies I wrote to Mullard (I think it was) for brochures on each of the integrated circuits they made then, and they sent me a whole stash of stuff free of charge. OK, that was 35 years ago, but these tube manufacturers have to sell their tubes to electrical equipment manufacturers somehow. The literature won't be too technical for the interested layman.

Try this link. Some good info on tubes here. Basically the EL84 is a pre-amp tube while the others are power/rectifier tubes.

No, EL84s are power tubes just like the 6V6s, they are just physically smaller--but they are not preamp tubes. The '60s model Kalamazoo I&II amps are great harp amps with a great crunchy tone. They have one EL84 and there are other similar small amps, some in the Harmony line. Most harp specific amps are designed with 6V6s or 6L6s. The 6V6s tend to have a nice, warm, early distortion, dependent upon the brand, that make them friendly for harp playing. The 6L6 family provides more power for more volume, but depending on the amp design, can boom killer harp tone.
I haven't heard too many blues harp players tout amps with multiple EL84s. Bottom line is that the EL84 distorts and crunches fairly quickly. Single 6V6 amps can do the same, but have a bit more bottom end and have a smoother early distortion. Anyway--

I'd like to thank everyone for your input on my question about tubes. I appreciate it very much.
