Well, not for August. But I look forward to Jon Gindick's camp in Sep. I will meet Adam, my harp mentor in person the first time. I also look forward to receiving world class instructions from all the other teachers and jamming with musicians. I am a new player so this is like a musical pilgrimage to me. Can't wait.

In August in the UK we have the Colne Blues festival.

I'm playing there at a small acoustic gig at Jim's Cafe on the saturday afternoon of the festival.
Paul Jones and Paul Lamb are playing there. But I have seen them more times than I care to remember.

I'm hoping to catch up with my mate Johnny Hewitt there and watch at least some of his set http://www.myspace.com/tommyallenjohnyhewitt
.
Maybe some other folk I know will be there playing as well.

clarksdale mississippi mis the site of the sunflower blues and gospel fest, and we're playing both the 7th and 8th at BLUESBERRY CAFE! along with unseen eye and tas kru, we're the entertainment for that venue over the weekend.

latewr in the month we'll be opening for unseen eye 2 nights in hot springs arkansas. at odie's, a real deal blues bar in the spa city.

so that's our month other than maybe some local jams and a street thing or 2.

I'm around for the weekend of the bluesfest in Clarksdale. I'd live to drive on over and sit in with you guys, if you'd like. I'm also working on a harp & footdrum version of the Allman Brothers' "Pony Boy" and would love to bring along my percussion. Please email me: asgussow@aol.com so we can hook up. In fact, I should start a thread about this.

Any Canadians in Southern Ontario should consider attending the Kitchener Blues Festival, Aug. 7-9. It is FREE (bands are all corporately sponsored).

Saturday headliner is Elvin Bishop. Canned Heat is also on tap Saturday afternoon. I'll be checking out the Workshop Stage at the Boathouse, where a great Canadian harp player, Dave Mowatt, will be participating in a few workshops. Jason's friend, guitarist and local boy, Shawn Kellerman will be on the main stage on Friday evening too. Can't wait.

On tuesday, I'm gonna fly to Budapest for the biggest rock festival in Europe, the Sziget Festival. There are a lot of different scenes there, including blues, so I'll try to check some hungarian blues bands.

As for the music I didn't make it to see Ricci as the damned elephant of a wall on my house demanded I sand it instead. I do have tickets to see Curtis Salgado on my birthday at the Triple Door. Taken the whole fam-damly yessirree.
