Were the blues born because the harp came into being and music was tailored to make the most of it's limitations?

If the blues already existed, it would have been a billion to one chance that this little instrument would come along and fit into the music just perfectly with a few playing technique modifications.

I dunno, note bending and 2nd position always seemed pretty radical to me, given that they BREAK the bloody thing. But how else are you gonna fit an instrument made for German oom-pah-pah into the Blues?

I think it's safe to say that, although they had different backgrounds, when the harp met the Blues, it was a match made in heaven.

if im correct the first blues was just call response singing in cotton fields an town squares where slaves were allowed to sing an dance. an they invented the bent notes an everything through there singing before they had any instruments.
