Recently I stepped into the world of overblows , watched videos about it , watched buddha and elkriver ,s video about modifying the harp , everything went smooth , hours and hours of practice and now I can overblow very easy . I focused only on the 6 overblow , for that minor 3rd in the 2nd position and the minor 6 in the 3rd position . I thought I got it , than I record something and the Ob didn't sound right, I checked it with the tuner and is way flat , so just popping the ob doesn't not result in the right pitch , I have to bend it up 40 cents . If you would use them as passing notes it might not be very noticeable , but if in minor context you have to hold that 6ob it sounds bad. That's the way it should be? Am I doing something wrong? Also I was thinking about Kudzurunner's Ob video , he uses Marine bands, the 5 hole draw is like 20cents flat, to get the major 7 on that hole Ob you have to bend it a lot. Any thoughts?
ps: I have find out that I can bend the 6 ob a whole step , from a G to an A , but I guess that stresses the reed excessively .

The intonation of overblows is a little tricky. Personally I'm getting more confident at using them as passing notes, but the intonation bothers me for anything more sustained too. Back to the woodshed I think!

Sorin, you can, with technique, go way farther than a whole step even, this is Buddha's area of expertise, so I'll back off.

a properly set up harp can get you up to SIX semi tones on the OBs. It's not easy but it possible and it's how I test my OB harps. If I can't hit 6 semi-tones the harp doesn't leave my desk.
The OBs are naturally flat so you have to learn how to hit them in pitch. I generally don't mess with playing bent OB arpeggios meaning playing Eb F# Bb >>> E G B or >>> F Ab C ++ I've never busted a reed with OBs so don't be afraid to do it.
