Just had a minor operation on my hard palate. Had a leesion just behind my front incisors, where I Ta Ta Ta. I don't know if it is a harmonica induced problem but the way I contort my mouth to get certain notes, I wouldn't be surprised if it contributed.

However due to the biopsy, the stitches and the dressing in my gob I can't play my harps for a while so I thought I'd busy myself with a bit of tuning practice.

Is it possible to tune a harp by allowing the tuning software to pick up the vibrations of a plinked reed or must it be a blown/drawn reed? If so how can you be sure that you are not inducing any unintentional bending when drawing? I have tried this and the software tuner seems to be all over the place and I find it difficult to hit the same note twice with any degree of accuracy.

Many thanks.

hey tooka, hope you get better soon. I use a mice plugged into a chromatic tuner. I tried the plinking thing but the indicator goes too fast probably because there is not enough sustain from the vibrating reed. So I blow/draw into the mice trying as much as possible not to apply any bending pressure and double check with my guitar.
