hi,
I've tried to figure out in which key the guy is playing this solo:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=G7OUJXWC
I think it's a Db harp, but I'm not sure. can you help?
(It's from a song called "smelly ol'dog blues" by tribal tech)
thanks a lot!

I guess it's just because I'm an as#hole--but I'm uncomfortable with going to a site I don't know with huge ads for get-rich-quick-schemes to download a file that a member with one post is asking a seemingly OK novice question about--does anybody else feel this way?

yes, I'm a beginner.
please, don't feel any threat - It's an upload site. The file you're downloading is MP3. I recorded it from the album.

Yes, it's a Db harp, but the recording may not be playing at the original speed.

Yes, oldwailer. I too have become quite cynical about content on the Net.
As far as I'm aware, you can hide spyware and shit like that in just about any file format. The older I get, the less I trust anyone, without good reason to trust them first - no specific reference to viduayte intended. ---------- 'If it sounds GOOD to you, it's bitchen; if it sounds BAD to YOU, it's shitty' - Frank Zappa

I knew that site already, so I wasn't worried, but I did run AVG 8.5 on my machine afterwards and it gave me a 100% clean bill of health.

Kyzer, the cool response is normally Unix.

I was gonna get something Unix / Linux type thing: Suse, RedHat, etc.
Trouble is finding software for them. I'd like a Mac, but it's infinately more expensive than linux: the latter is free! ---------- 'If it sounds GOOD to you, it's bitchen; if it sounds BAD to YOU, it's shitty' - Frank Zappa

Damn, I meant Linux, but I've used Unix, so I got them muddled. I uninstalled Spybot, as it once gave me a blue screen of death, and AVG 8.5 incorporates the old AVG anti-spyware which used to be separate. But actually I delete all cookies every time I finish an internet session.

I wasn't going to say anything about something that happened to me because it was mostly my fault but....when the harplayer contest was getting organized I went on the, I believe it was rapidshare site, to retrieve a track that oldwailer put there to play along with. It resulted in my computer contracting a NASTY case of malware/addware. Screens popping up multiple times for all kinds of stuff (none porngraphic thank god)every time I go on line.
Before everyone jumps on me as to how I know it was that site that did it, trust me I know (well lets say I'm 99%). Anyway, I never came on here and told anyone because I considered it mostly my fault, for being very lax in my updating of virus protection software. Namely, because I go on a limited number of sites most of which I really trust. Also, everyone on here, especially oldwailer, are good dudes and I blame nobody from this site.
I speak of it now because the fact that oldwailer is posting that he's wary of something like this happening....well the irony for me was too delicious to resist.
Lastly and sadly, as I'm a tech neophyte, sort of, the malware is still on that computer, which i've taken off-line, as i still can't seem to get the bugger clean.
Cheers to the harp blowin' community.

@viduayte
In case you missed it, Andrew has your answer: Db. I missed it at first (got sidetracked by all the spam talk, and it seems I'm not the only one) so I downloaded the file and checked for myself. And, it has to be said, my computer's just fine so far.

arzajac,
In that case, your experiences / needs must differ enormously from mine. Just go down to your local computer store and see how many things won't work with Linux. Been there. It's a shame though, as Linux is far superior to Microsuck / Windows. ---------- 'If it sounds GOOD to you, it's bitchen; if it sounds BAD to YOU, it's shitty' - Frank Zappa

No, the band is playing in Ab. The solo is played on a Db harp in 2nd position.
