Do you find you need a lot of back pressure and focused force to really hit those bends? My face turns red. Am I trying to hard? I only can hit them that way. Could that be because the harp is not setup for that hole or does everyone struggle with those 2 bends?

Thanks

Now that I am practicing it seems to be comming abit easier? Does the reed break in and make it easier? This is a fairly new harp and I dont use the 10 hole much.

Don't use a lot of pressure and force (I know from experience)! That's a sure way to blow out the reed, practice trying to do it with as little force as you can to develop control. I learned from saying oh ehh.

And of course, if it's anything above a Bb it will be considerably more difficult

Yes I am using a C harp Right now...I am going to try my B flat and A harp.

On another note, I am able to hit overblows on 1,2,3,4,5,6 holes..Keep in mind I am experimenting and able to hit them sometimes and trying to develop.

When I try the 1 and 2 overblow, I feel alot of stress in my throat. The way I am able to produce the overblow is by making a choking sound like I am trying to get something caught in my throat out. Kinda hard to explain but feel like I am stressing to much to get the low overblow. Is this normal.

The sound is almost like a cat hissing but from starting in the throat with a kaaaaaaa
