I know this is the correct space for eulogies, but my contribution is just a sarky joke.

I was discussing Paul's death with my brother, and he said, "It was about time he got a holiday from this life. He must've done little but fart under the duvet for the last year or two."

To which I tastelessly replied, "Ah but the tone he got..."



But seriously, folks... Even if it's not 'our' instrument, I think it's worth remembering Les Paul's contribution to guitar tone in blues and rock'n'roll. Here's a lovely eulogy in the Guardian.
