I went to a show last night at a venue in Seattle that has been supporting live blues for about 18 yrs. The band was this awesome roots blues band with a stand up bass player named Guy Quintino, a great guitarist named Greg Roberts, a really great singer/harp player named Bubba, and a substitute drummer for the regular drummer who was actually quite good (I forgot his name - sorry). During the break I asked the harp player if he was playing Seydel 1847's and this fostered a conversation inre harmonicas. Come to find out it is our very own Bubba from this forum. Let me tell ya' the guy can belt it out with his voice and he was awesome on the harmonica. He has a rig just like Little Walter's for amplification and I'll leave it to him to describe it if he so desires. To be honest I had to leave during the start of the third set due to living so far away and having to get up early for work so I guess I didn't stay long enough to learn the band's name. It was really cool to see all the cool musicians that got up with the band. To name just a few => Kim Field, Daddy Treetops, Mike Lynch, Billy Lovey, Dana Lupinacci....
Anyway, I just wanted to give a shout out for a guy on our forum with some excellent talent as well as thank him for the advice he gave me during our conversations. It will go well heeded. It is a small world ya'll. You just never know when you are gonna' run into a harp player.
