I have a blues Jr that has an aux. speaker outlet. Can I run a cord from there to a D.I. box then straight into the board?

Yes, though try it without a DI box first just to check sound differences

Hold on. External speaker and line out are two completely different levels. A speaker out may well fry a DI box and will certainly overdrive the sound board. You need line out level for this.

You would need a di box with a 40 db pad switch..then you could do it..otherwise, no....you will fry the inut stage of whatever you plug into ( DI box included if you do that)with speaker level output from an aux speaker jack.

I love this BJr for both harp and guitar. It has had some mods done to it and I have replaced tubes. I use Boss pedals through it and get a great tone. 545sd>DD3>BD2>GE7>BJr

I am going to look into this kit to convert aux speaker out to a lineout so I can go to the board and not need to mic on larger gigs.

Personally I would stick to micing it up.

The speaker produces one of the major components of your sound. Unless you mic that up you can't guarantee that what comes out of the line out will be as good.

A line out can be effective if it's done right. But so many aren't.

If you're intent on doing it I would recommend you get a good amp tech to fit it, and do lots of research first as to the best place in the circuit to tap off for the truest sound.

less the voicing from the speaker, right before the speaker should be the best place to tap for a line out if you don't want to mic the speaker. Another alternative is to install a high quality electret microphone in the cabinet, moving it around till you find the spot with the best tone.

Thanks guys for your input..I have emailed Billm, he is the one that did the original mods on this amp. He says he has a kit to convert the aux.spkr out to a lineout. He is going to email me more info on this mod and the adjustable bias he added when he had this amp. I will let you know how it turns out.
