I just replaced new factory jensen speakers in my reissue 410 bassman with some original '59 jensen speakers and the difference was astounding. I can't believe I played with the incredibly inferior sound of the new jensens for so long. And I now understand the movement to Weber speakers...but the originals are too sweet! I'm just passing this along.

theres this amp store in jersey that has a vintage bassman for $4500. the serial number is #59. meaning its the 59th bassman ever made.

we have a store like that in Baltimore. Guy has some super sweet vintage amps. I just could not buy a 50 year old piece of equipment for 4 times the price no matter how well preserved. That's collecting. But I admit I started collecting prewar MB's. Amps? Gods please No !!

I'm sorry to herar of his passing. He has forever left his memory in our ears.

I too have found that speakers are much like old harps, guitars, amps and many other things in our lives, newer isn't always better. "Made in the USA" is going to become more and more collectible unfortunately.

Well that's the problem Jon, I have all the mics and amps I actually need so I have no excuse. It's amazing how well they play when cleaned up isn't it?
Could be worse, I had to stop collecting ex-wives now THAT got exprensive!
