Well, when I was 17 I did once win first prize in a music festival playing The Snow is Dancing by Debussy: http://wwww.7digital.com/artists/various-artists/simply-debussy-3/ (I also won half a dozen second prizes and half a dozen third prizes). This is nothing to boast about - we were all kids, we were good enough to go into music school, but not good enough to have come out of music school.
It's just a reference point, since you're not likely to hear me play harp for a while. I said a while back that when I bought my iPod I threw away my cheap MP3 player, forgetting that it contained the only microphone that I owned. One day you'll hear me play the harp. It will be better than some and worse than others. Frankly, I don't put in the hours - I get up, I study math, I go to work, I come home, I eat and watch comedy DVDs, I read, I go to bed. I have no harp ambition. It would be nice to play rock and roll or blues in a pub one day. That's all the ambition I have.

It's all good Andrew we think you're great :) . Your contributions to this forum have been worthwhile (sorry having trouble finding a better word, it's feeling early). I have no past musical accomplishments. I have a day job as well and generally don't find more then 7-10 hours for harp a week. Though, if I ever did get good enough in a few years I'd be all about gigging once or twice a week.
