Got my Seydel Blues Session that I'm really starting to like but found one issue. On the 1 hole the blow is fine but the draw sounds off. Does not have a pure sound. Sounds kind of flat. Almost sounds like the reeds stuck? Is that normal for the 1 hole on a Seydel? And if I open it up what am I looking for?

Magnifying glass. Just make sure there's nothing obstructing the blow reed slot and reed. May have to take reedplates off to check properly. Plink reed to make sure it swings in and out of the reedplate slot OK. Look through reedplate at light to ensure reed not touching plate along the reed length. May have to re-centre reed if it is skewed.

It might also be a technique issue Steve. The one and 2 draw require a slightly different air pressure to get a clean note. It took me a long time to master a good 2 hole draw and even now I still sometimes take the easy route and use 3 blow instead of 2 draw.
Tooka is also right about what he says above. A good plinking usually sorts most problems out. Gently lift the end of the reed and flick it a few times, you should hear a clear note. Compare what you're hearing with the other reeds when you plink them and if it all sounds ok then it most likely you need to work on technique.

Looks like it's my technique. I have an old Marine Band and I have the same problem with the 1 hole draw. Thanks for the comments folks.......
