as a home brewer, my feeling is that one of the worst sounds is a keg emptying, the pssttt sound. but tonight at a gig my 1958 dan electro amp crackled and then the burnt smell came around... that might be a worse sound in my book about now, and the smell made it that much worse!

walterharp,

I feel for you man. I hope at least you got a nice vintage "my amp is burning up" smell. I hope you keg isn't empty right now...

grain, esb, cherry stout, wit, and the freakin dubble just made that sound :-(

i think it was a big old resistor that burnt, cause that is what smells burnt after opening up... hoping not a transformer. considering all but the caps and speaker are my age (original speaker stamped 1958) that resistor resisted for lots of years.
