Hi,

Do you know where/if I can get a replacement element for a JT-30 mic? I bought one off ebay which is in pristine condidtion but does not work. I assume the element is bad. I have the option of returning it or a partial refund so I want to see if it is worth fixing or how much the shell would be worth. Is is with box instructions/stand and cable.

Thanks

I just bought a new Astatic Roadhouse from musiciansfriend for $49.00. I plan to use the shell for a custom build. If you paid more than that you might be better off sending it back for a refund.
If you want to keep it, a JT30 element will run you about $150. You could get a Shure element for less.
A green bullet element in an Astatic shell is a fairly common setup.

Well I offered him 40.00 for the shell. So the element can not be fixed?

Can you be more specific what part to look for a shure replacement? Are these new replacements or used elements? What do you recommend for a equivilent sound if that is possible.
The orig element is a 101

No need to reply to this thread anymore. I am sending the Mic back for a refund.

Thanks
