I got the Paul Butterfield teaches blues harmonica book / cd as a gift. I was pretty surprised at the degree of difficulty of some of these examples. It is not a really well structured teaching package, but once you get past that, there are some pretty good things to be learned. Just listening to him go through some of the exercises is pretty impressive. On a lot of his albums he plays pretty straightforward harp, but he's really quite complex on some of these solo exercises. Anyone else have this book? curious as to your impressions.

I agree with your comments. I like it primarily to hear PB talk to his playing style and of course Happy Traum backing him. Not a good book for a beginner nor possibly for someone who doesn't dig PB. A few fun songs to work on your playing & singing. St. James Infirmary, Caress Me Baby, Nobody's Fault But Mine, Key to the Highway.....
