i think its really hard to tell on video but there is a big difference. there is more low and mids. got more of a vintage tone. got rid of the "farting noise" produced from too much low end. it sound clear, full, and warmer then before.

first half is stock speaker 2nd half is the jenson.

I really do have to learn how to do these videos and post. Jon that speaker should sound better as it breaks in too. I like the Eminence in mine but I've modded the amp also.
It's funny how small modifications, speaker selections, different mics shape sound. I like the Eminence speakers so much that I'm considering changing out the Jenson's in my Bassman LTD for the Eminence Swamp Things. I read somewhere that 2 Jensons and 2 Eminence are a great combination for Harp.

I run dual 12 inch Jensens with my valve Jr. head,in a cab similar to a fender twin. The tone is everything from fat Chicago to acoustic harmonica. I'm very happy with how they sound using a cut down samson r21 and a digitech rp80 for a small delay, eq and volume pedal. If you use a pedal like this, less is more on most everything. Individual tastes, but I really like the bypass mode and the sound of this setup even without any EQ or delay at all. Valve juniors and Jensen rock. Having two speakers bumps your volume a little, mine is about a 3db increase at 10 feet with the second speaker connected. This can make a difference for you hearing yourself on a loud stage. You could also put a second cab facing you as a monitor..have fun! These are nice amps for the money.

Bluzdude, That 12" Eminence Lucky Lady you said was a good speaker sure is a good one. Picked up a Valve Junior head and the 12" luchky lady cabinet last weekend. Could not believe the great sound - rich sound - and it is stock head unit. Got to find my soldering iron and surf the net for mods, but I like it stock for now.

I like them alot, I have 2 of those cabs, I use one with the VJr and I have one for my Bogen Challenger. E-mail me when you get ready to do the mods. It's good stock, but a little better filtering and the treble cut will allow you more gain without feedback. It's important to note that one of the things I like about The VJr + Eminence Speaker is you still get that nice early break up and tone at vol=3 that you get at vol=7 you don't have to Drive it full tilt to get a good tone, But you can and the gain doesn't really raise the break up level or get too crunchy. Face it The biggest Guitar vs Harp amp question has always been tone and feedback control

I use a foot pedal and don't open the volume up until I am cupped on the mic. I haven't done any mods to the amp head. Feedback hasn't been an issue except in my living room at over 100 db....not a scenario I need too often since it does break up early. On stage, there's tons of tone and you can mic it for additional house volume.

Most 8" and 10" speakers are really good for Harp. It has to do with the "break up point" that is the lowest gain that will cause the amp + speaker to begin distorting. Most 12" speakers have a higher break up point and are not as desirable for Harp. I have maintained that the Eminence Lady Luck 12" is the exception to the rule, it has a very early break up that some guitarists have described as "Farty" Remember good for Guitar, Bad for Harp, Bad for Guitar, Good for Harp
