The band is looking to do this tune and it has some really clean harp in it. It was recorded in '67 and someone told me that it was likely Butterfield that did the harp. I've found reference to Tommy Morgan with Neil Diamond but not to Butterfield. Its got a great sound so it could have been either of them.
I'm leaning to Tommy Morgan, Anyone know for sure?

I don't think Butterfield and Neil Diamond had any connection other than both appearing (separately) in "The Last Waltz". Diamond's appearance was an odd choice and wasn't met with much approval by the other performers.
The Barnes and Noble site lists the other performers credited on Neil Diamond's Greatest Hits package. There are only two harmonica players listed: Tommy Morgan and Hugh McCracken (who is also credited with guitar work). I think Tommy Morgan's probably more likely.
MrVerylongusername, Thanks for that. I thought I was fading into obscurity with that request.
I also found the same reference, and I did even review my dvd of the last waltz to find that performance and I have to agree that he really wasn't a good fit at all with the rest of the performances.
I understand that he had a 'friendship' of sorts with Rick Danko and that's likely how he got invited in.
Still he has written some of the great tunes and the guys wanted to do our version of this and the arrangement is kind of working out neat. I've yet to woodshed the harp part and if it is a Tommy Morgan harp I've got my work cut out for sure.
