My wife, at the age of 42, was diagnosed with lung cancer. After 4 rounds of chemotherapy and 2/3's of her right lung removed, she went into remission until Feb. of 2008. She then was diagnosed with brain cancer and had that tumor removed with 10 full brain radiation treatments that followed. I am happy to say she is in remission again thanks to prayers, positive energy, and a real world class attitude. They work.
I've recently been soaking up his DVD offerings while recovering from back surgery...he's such an asset to American music...my prayers are with him and his.
This clip is my Norton Buffalo favorite, even though it is a Bonnie Raitt clip. All the positive energy I can muster goes out to this great player. (The harp solo is at about 1:30).
Buzadero is right- I live one ridge over from Norton.
Oh man... I am bummed. Although I have never met Norton, I have hopes of doing so. I even put out some feelers through some folks who know him to find out if he gave lessons. I had plans on meeting him laid out- he gives a benefit concert each Christmas season, a good portion of the proceeds going to the Butte County FireSafe Council. My wife works there and was going to try to get me a backstage pass.
Norton's website states, "Last Wednesday night (Sept 2), I got the word from my doctor, that I had cancer in my lower right lung which has spread around a bit. Technically speaking it's considered a Stage 4 Adenocarcinoma of the lower right lobe. Thursday I got the results from my MRI, that it is in my brain as well." There is more there to read: http://www.norton-buffalo.com/index.html
Damn....
In any case, if this message gets to Norton, just let me know if there's anything I can do to help out...
