Has anybody tried this combination? Or failing that, a HarpGear 2 plus Lone Wolf Tone+ ? Verdict?

I'm looking for just a little more output without feedback. I find that the Marble Max can get drowned out in bigger gigs when just used as a "monitor" amp when run through the p.a. - rather than use the monitors and get feedback problems.

thanks in advance

The Lonewolf Harp Octave fights feedback much better. It's not an octave pedal like you might think of normally. Check it out.

I had the Tone+ and it didn't work out for my needs. The Harp Octave is the shit. It depends on your amp whether or not the Tone+ will do you any good. You can always try it and send it back within 30 days I believe, if it doesn't work out for you.

I'll say it again, the Harp Octave is the pedal to get for dialing in that old school sound (if that's what you like).

well i use a valve jr, so being that it only has a volume control i figured the tone+ would be good for it.

I prefer the Tone + over the Octave. The Tone + adds great fat bottom end definition and helps in controlling feedback. If you drive your power tubes properly then you'll get that nice soft distortion. The Octave just fuzzes up the mids and makes them louder. Figure out what you want for your tone then get the pedal/s that meet your needs. Above all, definitely get the Delay.

Jon, the Treble cut mod on the Lone Wolf page does work well and it ain't hard. I did it Also filtering really cuts down the feedback

Jon I'm no electrician and I have one hand that the fingers don't work. I have some ugly solder joints on that board but it wasn't hard. They really are the easiest step by step instructions I ever followed. I've done 2 VJrs successfully and I'm so glad I did, the difference is substantial. Ryan played through and has heard my Vjr Head & cab he can tell you you get a sweet sound.

GH,

I would try putting the amp so that it's facing across the stage rather than behind you. It will cut through as a monitor better this way. Also get it up on a beer crate or something. See if that helps you to hear it.

Thanks all
Yep, I do pu the amp on a chair, but still find that occaionally I need a little onstage volume. Sounds ike the Harptone+ may be the way forward so it's on order - I'll let y'all know if it's not the business!
