So Patrick Swayze is dead and I already know a little bit of the theme from Ghost and I was working out the main theme from Dirty Dancing. I figured that they might go over well at the local open mic, but as I got into figuring them out I remembered how lots of newer site members are always asking for tabs and I decided to try to write them out as I figured them out. The problem is I don't seem to have any idea what hole I'm on. I learn most stuff by ear and muscle memory. How do other harpers write out tabs? Is this why nobody likes tabbing their stuff? I can't afford to shell out for software to tab everything. I suppose I could sit and use a pitch meter, or I can stop after every note and put my finger on the hole and see which one it is on, but I was wondering if anyone had any tricks, or is this a whole new skill I'll have to learn? Is this hard for everyone or is this my dyslexia related LD giving me problems.
This isn't complete and may not be right- 3 4 4 4 -3 4 -5 -6 5 -4 3 3 -6 -6 6 -5 5 -5 5 3 -4 4 -4 5 -5 5
On a side note, I have a great idea for a novelty harp... it would have different color LED's that would light up for each note in the scale, on top for the blows, on the bottom for the draws. Do Re Me Fa So La Ti Do You could do ROYGBIV, and maybe substitute white for violet since it's kind of hard to tell from indigo and I'm still trying to find out which shellacs would be mouth safe to make decoupage candybar harmonicas with, and harmonica spinners. I think reed work is too exacting for me so I'm going to go for flash!
