Yeah--you probably think it's a harp player--maybe it is--but my vote goes to Stevie Vai! Don't punch play on this sucker unless you're ready for major head explosions!

OW - Na! Not my taste in playing.

I read in todays paper about a young fellow 'Smokin Joe Robinson' being voted the best guitarist in the world. He is only 16 and lightning fast but plays a guitar that looks like a guitar.

Smokin Joe is already doing work in Nashville. You can catch him on Youtube where he won the final of Australia's got Talent. I dont watch this show but looked it up and was very impressed. Also I don't play the guitar but am thinking about having a go at a 3 string fretless cigar box guitar.

Sorry, but the technology of posting Youtube Videos onto the forum has me stumped but its easy to find Smokin Joe. Would be interested to know what you think.

OW you are so right!
Steve has had a great career as a guitarist and composer.
He played in Frank Zappa's band for some years and was introduced by Frank as 'my stunt guitarist' and you don't get any higher reccomendation than that as a musician.

He was the guitarist in the film 'crossroads' in the guitar duel.
He has released quite a few albums of his own material, some early stuff is very dark and heavy (cd Sex & religon 1993) to the quirky and funny (cd Flex-Able Leftovers 1998); however recently he was commissioned to write orchestra music for the Dutch Metropole Orchestra where he blossomed from an innovative, virtuoso performer with incomprehensible technical ability into a composer of unique and beauty (2xcd Sound Theories 2007)
