This is the 1st Lil' Walter song I ever heard and got me into this blues harp journey. I cant beleive it but it the exact same track. It was on a cassette tape lent to me when I'd told a friend that I'd bought a harmonica. I'd never heard a harp sound like this and I loved it. Anyone know what this track is called. It's not on any of my lil' Walter cd's.
Even though Walter was ravaged by drink and the hard life by this point in his life. He still demonstrates what tone and phrasing are all about.
There is a beautiful burnt edge to his sound on this which is simply magical.
Admittedly it was probably a valve PA, but even playing acoustic off of the mic, Walter demonstrates a better sound than most of todays electric players achieve.
Proving of course that it's the player and not the gear.
