Hi thought you might enjoy this video I shot on the night.
I went to the gig to find that the regular Player Giles King was unavailable and that Lee was standing in.

I think that Lee has wonderfull tone and is very origional in his approach.

That's great!

Who is the guitar player? Where was the gig? Somewhere in London?

The Guitar player is Lightnin Willie from Lightnin willie and the poor boys.

The Gig was in oxfordshire in my Local blues club called Fat Lils in Witney.

I had hoped that a few more guys would have looked at this by now.

Ahh well its there loss.

Lee's a fantastic musician, to these listening ears up there with any modern player. Wish he'd get the old band back, but then most of them are doing their own thing.

What was he doing for amplification? Was there any? As you say, great tone

This is the best vid I have shot so far.
I really like the sound and lighting.

They came down into the audience at the start of the second set and just sat down and did this.

No amplification on guitar harp or vocals just great accoustics and a decent camcorder.

The guitar was unamplified I think its a resonator but I am not sure on that.

Lee is an upside down player and playes West weston Custom Marine bands.

I have some and they are great for loud harp amped or not. Very cheap also. Same price as a MB Delux.

If anyone wants the details let me know.

Got a steady hand there Oxharp. Did you take a tripod or something in? How did you do it? Good concert.

Damn! Yet another great upside-down player. That does it!
There's something going on with that. I'm gonna switch!
If I can grow an extra half a brain to shift with my
left hand in a right hand drive car I should be able
to learn to play backwards!

Maybe if I stand on my head it will seem natural. :)

Yes I did use a tripod and was about 6 feet away.

The camera I used was nothing special but was a Mini DV type so I can record in high resolution/quality and still get a good sound reproduction.

I always try and keep the camera still once the subject is in frame and try and imagine the vid from the viewers point and not how I think it should be.
I also always try and get an interesting angle and height.

If you are interested I will be posting more vids on my YT site soon.

There is alot of debate about the upside down style if you look hard enough.
for the record I do not beleive any of it.
If you have good tone... you have good tone.
