Welcome Alex! Great chugging and whooping.. I was going to put PaulLennonUK link here for his latest Sonny Terry book & cd, but I noticed that you already found it.
actually I still put it up here for the other ST fans
Alex--very nice job on the ST playing--if you can keep your rhythm straight while doing that stuff, you got it dicked!
Damon, I just got the downloadable book in the video above--spent the last hour with it--so far, I think it's just great--it breaks the ST sound down into little chunks that you can learn in a few minutes--then groove it in for a year or two--a lot of fun--a great track to jam with by Joe Filisko--and a souond track with three speeds for every riff.
The chica wa cha's are included with some of the tabs--where they are needed. I don't think these are Sonny's actual words--just Joe Filisko's interpretation of some sounds that work. ST's actual syllables probably left the world with him.
Overall, based on only one hour with the book, I would recommend it highly--and, at only about $15--it's a great value. . .
howdy elkriver thanks for your willkommen. i`m from waiblingen near stuttgart.your german makes sense sure enough. i hope my harping one day too. well mozart music is not my taste, but i like the balls (don`understand this wrong. LOL) i can`t open your website. i try it later again.
yeah i have this on video, but it still amazes me every time i hear it. no, i can`t say WHOO/WHAA. but i started working on better whoops, and maybe singing a little because in this time i had to make my music alone. i don`t want to be a real singer (i want to spend as much time as possible to figure the harp out). i only want to sing in a way that does not hurt.
