I found this tonight when having a look at harps on e-bay. I've never heard of this one before but it looks like a modified Goden Melody. Bit too expensive for me but does it play like a $200 harp? And who is Neiman Marcus??

I think the price is because it is a limited edition, It's just a Golden Melody Gold rebadged as a promo for a US retailer

It's probably has some value as a collectable. That value is completely different than it's value as an instrument. Neiman Marcus is just a department store chain. Mr.VLUN is probably right. It looks like a Golden Melody. So the price depends on are you are harp player or collector or both and how much money is $200 to you.

I declare "shannanigans!" It's a stencil that Neiman Marcus paid Hohner to make and they probably gave them out for free at some function.
The price is bullcrap. Just like the authentic reproduction Civil War harmonica I saw a few weeks ago on Ebay... it was a plastic-comb Hohner GLH.

It certainly isn't gold plated if that's how they're justifying the ridiculous price

it's the guts that count anyway. a harp can look like it was run over but if the reeds have been gapped, the reed slots tightened up, etc, it will outplay any high tone lookin stock harp.

that's a definite boondoggle buy there.

My first harp was a Marine Band from Tiffany. Expensive, but play worst than a stock MB. Im having my customize at the moment, but this Neiman Marcus want is probably similar. I'm not even sure if the cover plates are silver, but it was Tiffany on it, instead of the regular, and it comes in a nice case, that's about it.
