The words of men pass like the tides of an ocean.

The words of women however, have a tendancy to stick around like a pesky case of crabs.

I'm confused again. I should probably stop sticking my harp in the light socket. I know a lesbian comedian named Sandy Beach.

The best bit of advice my grandpa ever gave me: "There are two kinds of people in life...people who like you, and people who can go to hell!" What category would he fit in to I wonder? REMEMBER THE GUIDELINES MAN! If he keeps this up he should get the boot. I like Buddha's words of wisdom.

I used the forum search (really cool tool) and could find only 4 of his previous posts. They are here

http://www.modernbluesharmonica.com/board/board_topic/5560960/486007.htm

and here

http://www.modernbluesharmonica.com/board/board_topic/5560960/493256.htm

He only has 8 posts. 3 of them don't come up in the search, and 2 ask for tabs and 2 of then seem to be aimed at causing trouble. Not much positive input from this guy, I think Sandy88 is a Troll

With my apologies to Zach and Brandon I'm going to post here the quote from Sandy88 on the Jay Gaunt thread, Just in case Sandy88 decides to delete it before Adam or any of the moderators get a chance to see it. If anybody, especially Zach and Brandon, has a problem with this, I will delete the following quote immediately. My intention is not to cause further insult to them but rather protect the integrity of this forum.

That may be the most hilarious thing I've ever heard. Calling someone fat and ugly is not advice. There is something strange about you.

It's amazing how brazen some folks get when safely behind their computers at undisclosed locations. Some of the comments that get exchanged on this forum would never get mentioned in person without resulting in some ass-whuppin' or worse... If you wouldn't have the cajones to say it face to face, keep it to yourself. Zack, take any such b.s. with a grain of salt.

Oh I do, but reading it was quite a 'wow' moment. I think it's lame he is insulting a kid. I try to treat everyone with respect and I'd hope for it in return. Obviously I didn't get that!!!

Zack, You're playing is beyond your years. You're only a 'kid' by the calendar.
Take the respect that you get from those who see it and let the rest go.

The mere fact you and others so young are already grasping and mastering harp techniques, playing live with bands, etc. is impressive. We're not all supermodels, nor should anything so superficial be so important. You're a good player, and that's what matters. There will always be detractors, and most with zero or very little credibility. Remember that. Tact, class and taste will always win out in the end over 'bold' insults and demeaning , hurtful words. An a-hole is still an a-hole, no matter his/her status or 'accomplishments'.

I was going to paraphrase from that commercial "Don't Hate Me 'Cause I'm Beautiful", but then I realized you're too young to know what I was talking about. Don't take it to heart guys.

You wouldn't hear those kind of comments from guys like Adam, Jason, Kim, etc.

So don't let comments like that from a nobody get to you. It's a waste of your time and energy.

You know, its funny because I was thinking the exact OPPOSITE thing about Zack. Lets face it, a career in music is not something that most modern spoiled suburbanite kids could handle: life on the road, etc. I just can't picture any of those guys, except Zack, travelin across the country and blowin' down blues bars!

Hey, Elkriver, I grew up 41 miles south of Missoula, Montana am I home safe? And yes a River does run thru it. The Bitterroot Valley and the Bitterroot River. As a matter of fact I bought my first Harmonica, a marine band key of C in Missoula, think it was like $3.50, winter of '69/'70. Small Frigin world. Ooops I'm off topic. Good topic to be off. Like Buddha I'll say it straight, it ain't worth expending the energy.

remember when Blues Traveler took that ugly thing and turned it to their advantage? Their breakout video on MTV (back when they played videos and a popular video meant music success) was a video where they had "stunt buts" out front doing air harp and lip sync and they were behind the stage playing the real music? i gotta get me a stunt butt.

I didn't say you were a bad player, I just stated a fact. It's not an insult to acknowledge something that they were born with and is beyond their control. Fat is just the excessive presence of fat in the body, and for a person of your age and height you have an excessive amount of fat. But that's not any comment on you as a person or musician, you just have more fat cells than what is considered normal. My apologies if it seemed like an insult.

You know Sandy, I'm not the thinnest guy, but I'm not the biggest, either. Only an ugly person would hide behind their computer screen and make a statement such as the one you made. I bet you wouldn't say these things in person. I'm stating a fact when I say you are an inconsiderate, rude, jerk. Do you like insulting people, especially kids?

Geez, Sandy, you do realize if any of us ever sees a picture of you and you are anything less than a Brad Pitt clone, you're gonna be crucified, right?

@ walter...if you find the source for those stunt butts get me one while youa re at it!

It is of my opinion that Sandy's opinions are ill-mannered and invalid. Poor heckler is so busy worrying about everyone else's successes yet fails to have even the slightest aptitude to function in this very polite & generous society.

It is my opinion that you are doing great Zak & I look forward to getting to where you're at one day. Keep up the good performance & progression!

sandy88 is a suggestion name when you sign up for the forum. so its clearly some one who is not going to release his identity. other wise he would just get his face stomped in at SPAH 2010.

I still have a niggling feeling that Sandy88 is a Sock puppet

No proof, no evidence, just a niggling doubt in the back of my head.

Anyway fat is objective and yes if someone is fat (as I am) it's undeniable. But 'Sandy' you also said ugly - that's subjective - an opinion. No amount of back peddling and trying to make nice is going to disguise the fact that it was indeed meant in an insulting way.

is violence and threats really necessary, jon? imo, that is worse than mudslinging.

why not let it just die. or is this just to torment zack by reminding him some anonymous poster called him fat and ugly?

i think he can handle it. he's a mature young man.

"Sandy" clearly wants to provoke people and cause a stir. By creating this thread and fueling it you're just giving him what he wants...

Also, I agree with Buddha. Mods... Why not just check the IP address and cross-compare it with the other user-names?

I read the last word as Arabs. I was like well... that's counterproductive.

""is violence and threats really necessary, jon?""
"yes."

Seconded.

It may not be necessary. But, as a so-called "polite" society, we tend to forget that it can be very satisfying.

There's got to be a better way to settle this, A HARPFIGHT. The two contenders should upload their harp playing to the Harpfriends YouTube Channel and let the forum members decide.

Is that kinda like ULTIMATE HARPOUT. Put a big steel cage around the stage and the blows begin, until the last harpplayer standing sort of thing. No hitting below the two hole and overblows are ok.
