I did a forum search just to verify my suspicions... surprisingly there isn't much talk about Richard Hunter.
I have his "The Act Of Being Free In One Act" album and a few others I haven't gotten around to checking out. I am pretty amazed at what I've heard so far... he is one of those players who doesn't even need a band. He's got acoustic solo songs on there... and boy, do I respect that!
What other Richard Hunter albums do you guys recommend? and while we're at it... what other good SOLO ACOUSTIC harp songs are out there (just a dude and his harp)

Hunter also has "The Second Act of Free Being", and "All You Good People". His website ("www.hunterharp.com") has links to purchase these, as well as a link to www.Broadjam.com. At the latter, you can listen to quite a few of his songs (earlier this week the count was at 46) gratis - one at a time or like a Richard Hunter radio station.
Another recording I really like, of one harpist playing entirely solo, all accoustic, is DeWayne Keyes' "Flying Solo". To my knowledge it is sold nationally only on EBay.

JC Burris (Sonny Terrys nephew) did a couple of solo harmonica albums, great country blues stuff.
Sam Hinton - Master of the Solo Diatonic Harmonica. It's folk harmonica though, not blues stuff.

I use the patches Richard Hunter provides for the Digitech RP amp modelers. (I use the RP350) They are really great because they give you so freedom in the sound you want to produce. Instead of having one amp and one sound, you have 70 presets made by Richard that you can use. All of that for a price much less than a good amp.
