Not true jon. You've got plenty of friends here. Like the sound of that Octave generator by the way. Evil, like Preston said.

It sounds vaguely Eastern European.

I had to keep looking over my shoulder to see if someone or something was sneaking up on me, lol.

Hey, you know I'm up for hanging out another weekend. Just not in the dead of winter, I'm a wuss.

BTW, the next Philly harp meeting is Thursday October 29th. If you want more info let me know.

I picked up a Boss OC-2 a few weeks ago and am having trouble with it. I guess its a "tracking" issue, but as I've never had something similar to this pedal I don't know if thats what it is referred to or not. Higher notes on the harp work well, but when I come down to the lower notes, the octave cuts in and out unless I go very slow. When this happens, it is a very sharp, completey on or off sound, completely unusable. Is this the nature of the beast, or can I do something to make this pedal a little more friendly?

Your'e right - it's a tracking issue. the OC2 doesn't handle chords and low notes well. The Electroharmonix POG is about the best for tracking chords that I've used. There are so many octavers out there now there are probably others.

You can still use your OC2 to give a nice compression effect though by dialling down both octaves, but keeping it switched on (I think Jason Ricci was the first to do this). Save up for a POG or a HOG - they are awesome!

I noticed with my OC-3 that it couldn't match each note's pitch. Which really got annoying because when I wanted to cut out the clean sound it was skipping notes. I would go up a half step and the note wouldn't change.

I've been using the PS-5 which is killer. You get a pitch perfect octave effect for high and low and a bunch of other harmonizing a de-tuning effect taboot

Are you throwing any tongue block octaves in there, or would that just make heads explode?

Sounds swampy....something one might expect in a movie like "Cool Hand Luke" or "No Country For Old Men".

I used to have a loop tape chorus echo that had a similar sound that weighed about twenty pounds by itself.
