I have finally realized my dream of getting a CNC milling machine. That is one which is controlled by a computer. The goal was to be able to offer custom and personalized grill designs. I've spent the last few weeks learning the software and I've only scratched the surface.
However I've learned enough that I have two new grill designs which I would not have been able to produce before, and I will now be offering personalization to my customer base - before I could only do certain letters and restricted the availability to pro performers.
Of course all the information is at the BlowsMeAway web site but here are some pics:

Nice stuff, Greg. My parents gave my brother and me a Unimat when we were pre-teens. You've heard of that? It was an all-purpose lathe/drill-press/thingie--pretty much the smallest "thingie" of its sort that you could get over the counter back then, around 1971. I've always been a fan of thick shiny metal and the people who work it. My grandfather, who lived in the high desert of Apple Valley, CA back when it WAS desert, used to make all kinds of things on his drill presses and lathes. Stuff is good. You make some good-looking stuff.
Of course a quick search disclosed a Unimat video on YouTube:
Thanks, Adam! Yeah, it is really amazing to see what a lathe or milling machine can do. I've always been sort of hypnotized by it- although I try to avoid the hypnotic state when I'm actually making something myself.... ---------- /Greg
