5 years clean so i wrote this the other day.I did the guitar in DADGAD tuning the 1st time i ever used it but wasnt for sure what harp i could use i think i settled on a G harp. The recording is ruff i usually dont spend much time with retakes cause they allways seem about the same so mistakes and all is my motto,But any tips or sugestions will be g name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/p7GFdHra3cM&hl=en&fs=1&">reatly appreciated thanks

@Hobostubs: I'll have to listen to your tune after work, can't get it from my office. However, congratulations on your 5 year anniversary. Keep it up, brother.

Cool, I played along with a G harp. The riff works well with the feel the harp gives to it. I like the way you walk the bass line down.
If you could lay down another track for harp it would really let you free up your harp playing.
I play guitar and harp also but not being able to cup the harp takes away from what I can really sound like.
I bought a TASCAM portastudio, and things sound so much better.
Hang in there life only gets better.

hobo- been there done that man. been a while since i began the clean journey too. a day at a time is maybe trite sounding but it's how i managed to do it, and still do. but the pressure of the early years is off and i am happier than i have ever been these days.

true love and music are the 2 highest of highs i've ever had that won't kill me. the rest was a smoke screen that hid real life and real joy.

re your song: it sure has a lonely and haunted/haunting quality i really like. is that a tremolo harp you're using? wife is just beginning the open tuning trip on guitar. i find that 3rd position works well with open tuning at least so far. sometimes 2nd is the way to go, depends on the song.

our next thing to get is a decent video camera so we can get some stuff posted on line.

i am always grateful to meet another person on a similar journey to mine. as a class of people we definitely know what the blues is-and what the up side can be when we begin getting the gift of life on its own terms and the tools to make the best of it!

peace man.

Good tune Hobo, I liked your other music too.

Been down that dark road with you and the other folks.

Congratulations David on both fronts ie beating your demons (we all have them) & on producing a good video and a good tune.

I don't smoke but I used to in my early years. I do still enjoy my beer and the thirst craving hits at 5pm and stops when dinner hits the table ie unless we open a bottle of red wine(often). Socially acceptable but is it better or worse than other drugs?

Sometimes I think the harp is addictive ie my wife believes so!
