I was just wondering as I can't get a tone I'd like tonight and I've gotten it before. I think the room, as it is cool, could be affecting it. Could it be?

Room acoustics will definitely affect it but the temperature, that remains to be seen. Room temperature will definitely affect crystal cartridge mics as well as your own body heat at the moment.

Hmmm my amp just sounded trebley and cold, which is quite unusual...I even tried a few mics.

i really dont think so. only thing i cold think of it might take longer for the tubes to warm up. but that shouldnt be long enough that you would notice if unless you played under a min.

I don't know enogh about amps, but I do know that temperature, air pressure and humidity can all effect room acoustics. These qualities of the atmosphere will effect how different frequencies attenuate. Whether that can account for the degree of tone difference, I'm not sure.

Amp's tone shouldn't change with temperature. But MrVLUN said "that temperature, air pressure and humidity can all effect room acoustics"and he is correct. I suspect that is why you hear a difference.

unlikely the tubes sound any different, because they heat up anyway. The speaker or speakers on the other hand could be stiffer, and playing them probably does not warm them up much. somebody needs to do a controlled experiment!
