I have the Samson Airline unit and see the AKG SO 40 has been discontinued. What else is out there? ---------- Mike Fugazzi http://www.myspace.com/niterailband http://www.youtube.com/user/NiteRail http://www.twitter.com/NiteRail http://www.facebook.com/mike.fugazzi

Can't you just get a matching transformer? There are a number of them out there is various configurations. iirc, the Shure is bidirectional (Hi-Z to Low-Z, or Low-z to Hi-z). Check the manual for your unit to see if it is compatible with a matching transformer.

The goal is to avoid the IMT - to keep the whole thing short.
The "plug-in XLR wireless transmitter" is becoming a dianosaur - too bad for us!!! I think you'll find the Samson is either discontinued or will be soon as well. The end of analog TV spelled a re-allocation of frequency spectrum by the FCC and the frequencies that these devices have been using (about 780-820 Mhz) are being reassigned elsewhere. Count on increasing interference with these wireless systems as new stuff begins to get implemented in the same band.
There are some new digital systems coming in a new spectrum (Line 6, Wavefront) but I don't yet know how they are for harp. Been trying to find out. Not sure they'll be available in the XLR barrel form either. ---------- /Greg
