Hey every one,we played a new club last night with a good reception from the owners and patrons. After we finished up we were ask to be on the band rotation list! Finally we have a paying gig once a month. We feel really blessed since we have only been a working band for 9 months.
WOW it finally happned, I can check another one off the bucket list.

Congrats - that's what we are working toward - but it's still hit and miss. It's nice to have some gigs booked that are predictable and it makes it easier to sign up new ones, give you a track record, so to speak.

@Shredder
Well done! its great when a plan comes together..

It is a long hard slog to:
a. get gigs
b. keep the band together with enthusiasm so that you can play them
c. impress the club and punters enough to give you a monthly slot

Now what youve got to do is get to know and increase your audience:
a. Every gig go round the audience and write their e mail address down
b. Group the e mail addresses and send everyone a mail thanking them for coming etc etc a day after the gig
c. keep the set list fresh, and keep it slick and not self indulgent
d. record a cd and knock it out at gigs
e. keep the band together and have dep's ready if someone goes ill, you are committed now!

and Good Luck

Hey guy's,
thanks for the reply's and ideas.
We are going to have to really start with the P.R. part of the job now. I think one of the members is starting a my space page. I like the idea of email addresses. I'll have a note book next time we play to send out thank you's and upcoming events.
Thanks' again
Mike

Shredder- I like MySpace better for music, but at least in my circle everyone is abandoning it for Facebook and Twitter.

And make sure with your email list that you BC everyone instead of CC.
