Hi:
If you remember me, you know that I started playing harmonica last month with your guidance. Now I can play very simple country songs but it's great cause I spend a little time daily but with your help and motivation I am learning quickly.
I just want to thank you. Great great forum.
Plus I want to thank suzuki. Suzuki makes great harmonicas. I own a harpmaster and I love it. Really thanks that you introduced me to the harp maker:)

Nice one Hoolines. I'm so pleased for you, it gets quite addictive doesn't it?

Yes. It's very addictive. Every single day I feel a strange magnet making me play! The best instrument ever.

I have to say, if you have been playing a month and own one harp...GOOD FOR YOU!

You appear to be resisting the urge to try everything made in a quest to improve your playing. That's a good thing. Since all diatonic harps are "mechanically" the same in layout, you only need the one until you play with somebody in some key your harp and skill level doesn't do yet.

A tip: if you know any good guitar players or pianists, play with someone and tell them the key you need. Then they can back you and vice-versa as you jam. I think jamming should begin as soon as you can play some melodies with decent single notes. Even sooner if you are happy playing chords in one of two keys.

Have a blast, try everything and work on your weaknesses while polishing your strengths!

@tookatooka: thanks for the link. Oh yeah... that site is a life saver.
@congaron: One step at a time is my motto. Unfortunately I have no one around like that but I will do my best to polish my playing. I love my suzuki harpmaster but as a gift to myself I will order a bluesmaster several weeks later. The price is great and the quality... wow... I even managed to open my harpmaster and look inside with no damage to the harp.
Thanks again Forum and everybody.
