Guys,
I have a dilemma. I am going to buy a new amp but cannot decide which one. So far I have narrowed down my search on two models. Harpgear HG50 1210 and Meteor.
Which one shall I get? I would like you to express your opinions, please.

I have a HarpGear 50 and love it. You can't go wrong with either of them.

leonid,
How lucky you are to have the choice.
I would love either but with the current exchange rate here in the Uk we are feeling the pinch!
I currently use a Fender Blues Junior (with low gain valves) but would love a Bassman or Sonny or HG50 or Meteor....oh well..never mind it'll soon be christmas

I also live in UK. Recently, took part in Harmonica Player of the year competition which takes place in Bristol every year and have done wery well there (Blues category - 2nd place, Jazz - 3rd place which was a mixed category for chromatic and diatonic, and Melodic - 2nd place also ).
So I have decided to treat myself and get a bigger amp. Otherwise, I play through a Marble Max. It is a lovely amp but I am feed up of beeing bullied by guitar player and retarded sound engineers.

Super Sonny Jr 4X10, best out there, similarly priced. Built to last forever. Brian makes nice amps too, didn't care for the last Meteor I played through, too raw for me.

I can vouch for the HarpGear HP1210, I have one. It's on par with the Sonny Jr Cruncher but the HP50 is 50 watts as compared to the Cruncher's 35 watts. It is a beautifully produced hand wired harp amp masterpiece. I have heard both and prefer the HarpGear for price, wattage, tone and for super excellent customer service.

Hey Leo...it's Oisin here from the Coach and Horses jam, welcome to the forum and hope you're doing well.

My answer...buy them both!!

Fellow Forum memebers ...this guy is a Russian Jason Ricci. He plays the fastest runs I've ever heard not surprised he won those contests at Bristol.

Speak to you soon at the jam Leo. Nice playing last week by the way.

I live in the UK and had the HG50 1210 shipped over - amp and customer service both fantastic.. I prefer the tone of Brian's amps to any of the other boutiques..

My two cents.
I can't speak for HG amps, but I do own both Meteor amps. I like the sound of 6V6 tubes. The big meteor has 4 6V6 tubes. To my knowledge its the only botique with this lineup. Personal preference. Its loud and flexible. Lots of bottem end. And by the way Hummels "blowoff" tours with a pair of these.

I have tried Meteor yesterday. Did not like it at all. It is a good amp but the tome is to traditional if you know what I mean. It does not ring the same way as HG50. So I made up my mind.
